Hi,

I downloaded and installed Microsoft Hyper V Server. I have configured network settings and I can access the server via Remote desktop.

I downloaded Hyper-V Manager console to Vista.

How can i manage the server remotely ? I mean how to install guest OS, manage vms ?

Appreciate expert help on this.

Hi Asanka,

Once you installed to RSAT tools to the Windows Vista you'll be getting the VMM (Virtual Machine Manager)  as well.

Through that console you need to remote login to the HYPER-V host server. Make sure necessary ports are open in the firewall. Once you connect to HYPER-V host you have all the tools in that MMC consoel to create VM's. Of course this is basic one but if you need advance management consider SCVMM.

Some referance link for you,

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/952627 - RSAT updates. Make sure your HYPER-V  host also having the latest windows updates. Even if you're having Windows 2008 R2 there are some critical HYPER-V  patches need to be applied.

If you need more information just PM me Smile
