hi guys,
I'm using WSUS 3 sp2 in a windows server 2003 AD domain. I have arranged an automatic approval rule to approve all critical and security updates. And now all those critical and security updates have been installed to all the computers in the network. But when I check the computers in the wsus console, all are shown as 99% completed. Why doesn't it become to 100%?
Also the biggest issue is, I have setup email notification to send the daily update status summery. In that summery, it shows as
Critical and security updates approved: 645
Critical and security updates needed: 209
Critical and security updates with errors: 67
Why is it still shown as Critical and security updates needed: 209 when I have already approved all the critical and security updates?? This status report goes to my regional IT manager as well and he asks of this from me daily. Any help please...

I this scenario first want to clarify some informations. what kind of MS products u use in ur env and what are the security patches downloading to ur WSUS console, depended on this report show the infomation

I agree with Netpro, first we need to know what kidn of applications you've selected in your update list. Dependinh on that our answers can vary. Apart from that sometimes there will be superceeded updates can exist which might not install the previous updates. sometimes your update report can be get misleaded by that. so always have a careful look into the report.
If you're ok share us one of the sample report as well.

I download only Windows XP and Office 2003 updates. Classifications - Critical updates, Security updates, Service packs and Updates. All the servers are updated manually.

I don't mind showing you the report..
I want to add some informations to bubble's reply. Have you checked the recent update list that are released for that 2 products which you have selected and I guess only the meta data is downloaded to your WSUS main server and still patches are downloading to your main server. You can verify this clearly by connecting one of your PC to internet and install all the update which are listed in your WSUS main server and run the report against above mentioned PC and check whether still its showing same massage.
[To do this check all the updates catelog that is recently released for above mentioned two products and check WSUS update share folder in your WSUS main server to check that all updates which are showing in your meta data is downloaded comparing the capacity of updates regarding to WSUS web site]
